We are glad you applied - UCSD Jacobs School

Hello xxxx:
We are excited that you have applied for Fall 2013 admission to the Jacobs School of Engineering at UCSD. As a top applicant to the university, we know you'd like to know a little more about our school....
Over the next several weeks, we will be sending you weekly emails to let you kno what's so great about being a student at the Jacobs School

Sincerely,
....

has anyone received this email??? i think weekly email is a bit much. i'd rather receive just the one that matters.

NO! So I’ll just go shut myself in my room now and pout…lol not sure what it means but I’m sure it’s a good sign so congrats!

I received it as well. I want to know if this was selective or not.

I received this today and also the invitation to apply to BA/MD program a few weeks back. Hopefully it’s a good sign.

I just stumbled upon this, but it seems like a good sign to me. They actually refer to you as a “top applicant”. Also, I don’t see why they would send you emails about why you should choose their school if they were planning on rejecting you anyway. I would say it’s definitely a sign of good things to come.

I believe only engineering major designated students received this email. For example, I applied biology majors, received the invitation for the BA/MD program, but not this specific email.

Swedish: op here. I did receive the invitation to apply for BA/MD scholar earlier in the month. I applied for chemical engineering at UCSD/UCD , business at UCLA and UCB.

Bump…

I got this last year. Applied for Jacobs School of Engr, CS major. It’s a very positive sign that you’ll be admitted! I’m at UCSD and very happy with my CS classes. Lots of work, but every professor I’ve had so far has been very good. Congrats.

Bump…

myboby, my son received this as well. We are out of state and he applied for bio-engineering. We are visiting campus later this month.

I got this last year when I applied. I did get into UCSD for mech. engineering.
