GMAT for transfer

Is it a good idea to take the GMATs as a transfer student to Stern and Wharton?

I'm considering this in addition as a sort of supplement to my application that I can focus on during my otherwise free summer. Would it have any effect if I did very well on it and wrote it on my resume?

No. The GMAT is for graduate purposes. Taking it would not assist your transfer application.

Although, if you do plan to go onto graduate school you can take it. I believe the score is valid up to 5 years. That way you won’t have to worry about the test later. However, the GMAT will have no impact on your undergraduate transfer application.
