its just that i have noticed in CC that how people in UCLA threads try to keep on proving that it is better than Cal and its getting better in rankings and all, go to Cal's thread and they live in the shadow of Stanford.

ehh Cal is always gonna get flak for being considered the #1 public, just like Harvard gets flak for being #1 everywhere because of its super-rich resources. Except Cal has it worse because it gets hated on from the the Ivies above it and the publics below it :(

I think it's about about who your rival is..

UCLA and USC
CAL and Stanford

Let's face it..it's much cooler to be rivals with Stanford than rivals with USC.

how did this thread get invaded by dumbass cal students...gtfo please. thanks.

Oh Citan..you know, some of us cal students did get accepted at UCLA..but chose Berkeley...

um...yeah...

^^ umm...this is for future bruins....you are going to cal....future cal studetns have their own thread...goodbye

^^^can I smell a cal reject??

Accepted: UCLA, UCI, UCSB, UCD
Rejected: UCB
Pending: none
GPA: 3.78
Units: 78
Major: Electrical Engineering
Intercampus: No
Will Attend: UCLA
IGETC: Nope
PreReqs: Done for UCLA

Aww...you were rejected...i'm sorry :(

Uhhh.... the only reason Cal is a rival with Stanford, is cause they cant hang with LA athletics, at least for the big time sports (basketball, football, baseball). Dont get me wrong I have nothing against Cal, I am just saying you rival with teams that you are capable of beating. Maybe in an individual game Cal can beat LA as they did beat in basketball last year if im not mistaken, but all anybody remembers is that LA went to the national championship game.

Cal doesnt really have awesome athletes, they had like kyle boller who sucks, and aaron rodgers who sucks.

UCLA on the other hand has names like Marcedes Lewis (recent), Troy Aikman, Chase Utley, Farmar, and countless other all time players like Bill Walton, and Kareem....

If you are talking about just rivaling not invloving athletics, then I think its more of a proximity thing. Cal is up north with Stanford, while SC and LA are close to eachother as well.

In the end, I'd say both schools are amazing, and I'd be proud to be a student of either, and hope to be in a couple years.... I like to see the competitive juices flowing already though=)

talktell: yea so what? it's EECS...no shame in that. you think you won the freakin' nobel prize cause you got into cal...and that to in probably some ******** major out of community college...good job. it seems like you have some sort of inferiority complex where you deliberately like to point out to everyone that you got into cal because subconciously you feel inadequate and inferior. that's alright. people like you make up the cliche "annoying perfectionist" character in high school teen movies. And judjuding by moronic comments like

"Let's face it..it's much cooler to be rivals with Stanford than rivals with USC."

you are also a........moron. believe me we won't miss your type in UCLA...goodluck with cal...and all the other problems you have.

School spirit and the whole college small-scale nationalism is just a big distraction IMO. "My school is the best!" "No MINE is!" That's real petty for the supposed brightest students in the nation, don't you think? :)

That's what I think ;)

thanks Citan..

btw..I got into comm studies at ucla..the HARDEST, MOST IMPACTED major to get into at ucla...

and yes..I turned it down because that is what you are supposed to do when you get into ucla and berkeley..you go to berkeley.

^^ yea there isn't a huge thread in the berkeley forum of people turning it down for other colleges....are you trying to be moronic..or is it a trait?

yea communications.....very important major lol

business major for chicks lol

oh, and you want to call me cliche? you are the one knocking a communication degree.

So, now that we are talking stereotypes, being an EECS major, you must be an ugly, pimple-faced, nerd who couldn't get laid if he paid for it.

"are you trying to be moronic..or is it a trait?"

I got into Berkeley and UCLA..you only got into ucla..if I'm a moron, then what does that make you?

It's pretty sad how obsessed tallkell is with rankings. US News must love you. Also, the idea of someone being "supposed" to go to one school over another is just redicilous. We will see how you like Cal after a couple semesters. I sure hope for your sake you like the environment! It sure would be shame if you hated it, or couldn't cut it against the competition. ;)

No.

At least he is not stupid.

Communications is a joke.

"I got into Berkeley and UCLA..you only got into ucla..if I'm a moron, then what does that make you?"

Ummm, wow. As if getting into a school is a direct measure of your intelligence.. hahaha..

awww..nspeds is back!

Yeah..how do you like the fact I'm going to berkeley..ranked #20 and you're at Georgetown..ranked #23?

:)

Oh, and btw, Mass Comm at Cal is also a highly impacted major..

you guys are just jealous..

I'm hot and I'm going to the harvard of public schools...so there!!

EAT IT!
