Do students do this? I cant get any sleep in my dorm because I already have back problems and the heat is a killer.

A lot of students go home on weekends, even upperclassmen. More students stay around on the weekends when midterms and finals are coming up.

Many students go home on weekends to replenish snacks and to bring other things that they forgot. Despite this, I think it’s safe to say that the majority of the people stay on campus. For people like me, my home town is located at the ass end of New Jersey. The traffic can be pretty bad on Fridays, so it takes me a few hours and a plenty of cursing to travel back home. If you live near by, feel free to go home. Otherwise, it’s a complete waste of time.

A lot of people who take the train or keep a car on campus go home frequently. During freshman year, half of my floor would empty out for the weekend. Even my RA went home sometimes. Both options are completely normal at Rutgers.

If the bed hurts your back, you could buy a thicker mattress pad.

As a sophomore at my College coming from a very tightly - knit family and being the youngest out of all the kids, I go home very frequently (just about every weekend) because of the fact that I enjoy spending time with my parents doing just about everything.

Some would say that doing this inhibits you from growing up, but I don’t really agree. I do all of my work, have some involvement with friends on campus, and still wash all of my clothes and cook for myself when I am away from home.

The heat should be letting up soon fortunately and those egg crate mattress pad thing help a lot. If you wanna get really fancy you can invest in one of those thick memory foam bed toppers for like $100-200. Makes your twin XL like sleeping on a cloud.

Edit: why was this thread resurrected from two years ago? lol
