hi I have a C in AP AB calc, however i really want to major in accounting/finance. How will this affect my college decisions? my SAT math is 770 and my past math grades have been fine. my gpa is fine too, its just this grade…
bymppp pls i need help
You will need calculus for your major once you are in college, but you don’t necessarily need it for college admissions.
That said, what are you doing to get your grade up? Are you working with your teacher to identify your points of confusion in this class? Are you doing every single problem in the book over and over and over again until it all starts to become clear?
@happymomof1 don’t they see first semester grades? should i just apply to college of arts and sciences then. i am trying to identify my weaknesses and ill c how it goes
If you want to study busienss then apply to b-schools. It is often very hard to make an internal transfer into the b-school.
@happymomof1 true but i feel like I’m gonna get rejected from the business schools because of this one grade
Yes they will see that C - if you do end up with a C. What are you doing right now to raise that grade? That should be your first concern.
@happymomof1 I’m getting a tutor, going to my teacher for extra help. i just do not want to get rejected cuz of one grade
I think you will be okay. It depends what schools you are looking to get in too but your grades seem to be ok. Just work on increasing your in class grade.
Where are you applying?
If you want direct admission to Indiana Kelley it may matter.
If you want Penn state smeal just apply DUS and get the required grades in college (your senior grades won’t count in admissions).
If you want Wharton or Stern, then yes that C may well keep you out.
