Should you go overboard with AP's? Like by the end of senior year I will have like 10+. I don't know if I should do more or less or what? What do you guys think about this.

well it shows colleges ur ability to handle college-level material and shows maturity....its up to u

i will have 15-16...it varies with people

and its always better to have ten 5s on 10 AP exams than a shaky bunch of 3s and 4s and the occasional 5 on a transcript of like 20 AP exams

by the end of senior year i will have done .... 12

i will have done 12-13

u guys are crazy, i would only have 8 when i'm done.

my school only offers 6, I'll probably have 8 done. 15-16?!?! WOW.

I'll have like 8-10. I think 15 is way too much. It's a waste of one's time I think. I'm semi-jealous, but not really. I'd rather take classes I want to, like Diag.

I'll have 17

I'm an IB kid so I'll probably only have about 5 APs because I'll have 6 IBs. There are some IB kids at my school that are taking way more APs, but only a few.

ill have 10, maybe 11.
pretty much all my school offers.....
only APs I'm missing are AP Art, AP Gym (basically a 5-day Gym), AP Calc AB (takin BC next year), and AP World (since that was done through my sophmore history teacher, a real *****)....... other than that, I'll have done EVERY AP my school offers.

my school doesn't offer AP Physics C (Mechanics or Electromagnetism) unless you take it as an independent study.

what is AP gym? that isnt an AP class...its kinda funny how your school is screwing u guys over with fake AP classes.

yea AP Gym is pretty much for all the athletic people who wanna try in gym.
its 5 days of gym a week (compared to the usual 2 for normal people) and it's much more difficult.
it's only a 4.0 (all other APs are 5.0 for an A), but it's called AP Gym so that retarded (as in very, very, stupid) jocks can brag about having an AP class because our school's main sport is FOOTBALL, even though we haven't won states in 10 years (and girls soccer, volleyball, and boys wrestling, and hockey have all won the state championships here in PA, tennis and possibly baseball will be joining them)

now Football does win sections nearly every year, but then we lose.
when I was a 9th grader (2 years ago) we made it to states, then lost in the THIRD overtime b/c our kicker missed the EXTRA POINT.

oh, thats still retarded...I would be embarrassed to put that on my transcript

yea, still retarded. waste of a class too.

Ya.....lol.

We don't even have PE, except one semester, and that's all.

By senior year I'll have done 6 or 5 APs. you don't have to go overboard... Seriously don't waste your high school career taking crap AP classes just to pump your transcript. Many of the kids on this forum aim for really high colleges and don't realise that academics is only 1 part of getting into colleges.

well, half the ppl here are lying about their AP courseloads anyway.

wow...i can't believe there's really an AP gym...

i also can't believe the crazzzy numbers of APs you guys are taking
i'll have like 7 or 8 tops

ghandi... i disagree with your post.. and realise is spelled realize

AP gym...wow. Haha we poke fun of guys, asking if they're taking AP gym or AP woodshop, now your telling me a school actually has an AP PE?

Yeah I think APs are important and all, but after about 8 it would all be about the same in my eyes.

I mean is an adcom going to prefer someone with 17 APs over someone with 16 APs? probably not.
