Hello,

This is the first time I'm posting to this board, and I hate to be the one bringing up another "oh will I get into here or there" thread. I'm currently in my first year of college at a small, private university in New York. I have a 3.75 GPA which will rise to about a 3.8 at the end of this semester, and will rise even further next year judging by the nature of the courses I'm taking. I'm a physics major in a 3-2 joint degree engineering program with Columbia University, however I also feel drawn to a couple other top engineering schools. I've made the decision to try and transfer to Cooper Union and Carnegie Mellon at the end of next year. Here are my credentials: I'm in the Honors College of my school, have a 3.75 GPA and a 4.0 in math and science. I'm president of an active physics club, am attempting to start a robotics team sponsored by the physics and computer science clubs, teach physics recitation, and sit on the editorial board for the school's scientific journal. I also do research into nonlinear optics, and hope to have my name on a paper or two by the end of next year. Finally, I am the student government treasurer for the class of 2012.

So, think I stand a chance?
