going to more than one CC, do UC care?

thinking about making a switch to WLA CC for my second and final year. O-chem is a lot easier down there.

why would they? as long as the courses match...I was thinkin about doing the same for physics...ask ur counselor..

i woudln't think so, i went from a CSU to a CC and i still got accepted to irvine and davis

the only problem is first semester there, i proly get a bad enrollment date and not get the classes i want/need.

I was thinking about driving down there asking a counselor about about enrollment date. dunno yet. I never liked changes

UC's don't mind at all. A UC Berkeley admissions officer/representative told me this.

I was also wondering how it shows up in the transcript?? is there just one single transcript? or two different ones from the different colleges...and how does it go in the application?

I have attended a total of three community colleges. I don't think it matters. But your course transfer equivalents can get messed up so check out the ASSIST to find exact course equivalents for each college. One general advice is to finish a course series in one college. For example, UCLA tells us

You should complete the entire Physics Series at one community college (or at community colleges within the same district where courses are exact equivalents

So try taking a course series in one college.

fei, in the app you "self-report" the course and the college where you took the course. So you do not send them any transcripts. When they offer you admission, you have to simply send your transcipts from the individual schools.

indie_boy: when you put the course name...you also have to put the name of the college where you took the course right?

yup and if it is quater/semester system and the number of units.

I have been attending two CC's..both on the quarter system...won't be a problem for me. The one thing you have to be sure about, is that both agree on IGETC certification.

did a little more research on WLAC.

They only have one bio class and one ochem class in the entire CC. Thats pretty ridiculous. I am proly not gona be able to enroll, but the person i talked told me that CC has no rules about class capacity if professor would allow me to join. But both classes are labs, so they usually limit it anyways.

I decided to email several professors and ask how they handel extra adds and if they will be teaching the class.

Classes are easier there than SMC from what i heard and read on ratemyp website.

Hoping for the best, but still gona enroll in both.

What do you mean by that? Sounds silly, but do you mean we need two certifications? My situation: my IGETC certification is only from my primary school ("last school attended" on the app). This is my first semester at the other CC I go to and I'm only taking two classes. Does that matter? What should I do?... or did you mean if we're trying to complete IGETC through two schools?

i was confused about that too. if i take most of my igetc course at a different CC than i last attend, does that mean i still have to get it certified in my second CC (the one w/ least classes taken).

thanks.

What I meant by that is that if you split your classes across two CC's, you need to make sure that the classes you take at one, satisfy the IGETC requirement of the other CC you are attending.

For instance: Let's say you are taking Underwater Basket Weaving 1A at CC-1, and you are looking to be IGETC certified through CC-2. Well you better make sure your Underwater Basket Weaving course is on CC-2's list of IGETC classes or else they won't certify you.

All my IGETC classes are only from one college ("last school attended"), so I guess I have nothing to worry about.

Actually, I shared this thread with a friend of mine earlier today and now I've confused her too... her situation: IGETC classes taken at two different colleges. We don't see the point in this, but she's wondering if she needs to be certified by both colleges. Her question: Do I need to also be certified at College B if I am only using their classes for College A's IGETC? --- classes taken at College B for College A's IGETC are in agreement (those particular classes she's taking at College B are equivalent to that of College A for that section of College A's IGETC).

My reponse: No. All you need is certification from one college. Why would you need the second one? Besides, just because you're taking IGETC classes at College B doesn't mean you're fulfilling their pattern.

What do you guys think?

i talked to a counselor from a different CC.

She told me that if a class is on my first CC IGETC list, they will count it.

But u do need to get it certified by the last CC attended.

Dunno if i wanna make the switch.

I hear WLAC is pretty ghetto lol.
