I have a good friend who goes to RIT. He had mostly positive stuff to say about the place, although he felt his fellow students weren't very motivated academically. He's applying to Harvard as a transfer student now, but my point is that if you're unsure about whether or not to apply to RIT, I would say go for it.

If you have any questions for my friend, post them here and i'll pass them on to him. Hopefully he'll just come and register on CC so he can answer any questions about the school himself.

mm.. I applied about two weeks ago but it so seems that they haven't received my HS transcript so I guess I'll have to wait!
Anyways, what do you know about the campus and specially the rooms!!! how are the rooms?

I am actually a first year student at RIT and can answer questions as well.

In reply to omareduardo13, the rooms vary depending upon which dorm you happen to get assigned to, but from the rooms that I have seen, most are in good condition. I personally like the room that I live in, which is in Sol Heumann hall.

By the Way, you can actually see room layouts of the most common rooms on campus, and some pictures on http://housing.rit.edu

Do you know anything about specific dorms? Meaning, are there certain dorms that are better than others?
