So I got Capped at UT Austin and PSA at A&M, so now I have to go to UT Dallas as my last resort. Pretty bummed out…but just wanted to know how campus life is at UTD, like is it a good school? Is life on campus bland? ect. Also want to weigh out my options, such as the military, which I had always kept as an option, but now I’m strongly considering it, or if I should do the cap or psa programs.
Bland school spirit would be an understatement at UT-Dallas. I would say closer to nonexistent. It’s actually a very strong engineering school, but you won’t get that “college” atmosphere. If you’re planning on going into the military, your major really won’t matter a whole lot, so you could do CAP and transfer into a liberal arts degree at UT. If you do CAP, your degree options will be limited at UT because their popular majors are ridiculously competitive unless you can maintain a 3.9. This means if you find out you don’t want to do the military, you’re going to be stuck studying something more/less useless for the job market. If you want a good college atmosphere with flexability, you could transfer to Texas State.
@arreogio53 I replied to you other thread. If you want to go to med school you should be more focused on the school acceptance rates and their pre-med programs. Have you done any research about UTD pre medical programs?

You really don’t “have to go to UT Dallas” why not just go some place else as @coolguy40 suggested, Texas State has much more of a party vibe than UTD, you should go some place that you’ll be happy to attend. You already have such a negitive attitude toward UTD I would strongly recommend you NOT attending. I heard Baylor has a good pre med program too why not go there?
@arreogio53 UTA is a bit more lively than UTD, more affordable than UTD, has Division I sports, Arlington is way more interesting and fun than Richardson, and last but not least UTA has many great programs. I think you should seriously reconsider UTA given what I’m seeing.
