all i could find about golf from the college website was that theres a golf club...

plz help! thanks!

Well, I’ve never been golfing but I do know that there are a TON of golf courses in Williamsburg: [golf courses williamsburg - Google Maps](<a href=“Google Maps”>Google Maps)

I don’t know if W&M has any sort of special relationship with any of the golf courses, but I do know from my friends that golf that some of the courses are very nice and expensive. Some of them are relatively cheap. I’m pretty sure that Golden Horseshoe and Kingsmill are two of the nicer ones. My friends that do golf, always take their own clubs.

Also, about the golf club, I’ve heard that it’s pretty much nonexistent. It’s technically listed but according to my friends the golf club exists in name only. But I’m sure you’ll meet other people who golf.

Are you good? There’s a varsity golf team.

there is a varsity golf team. You should look into it if you’re interested.

I assume you would need to have your own clubs, but I don’t really know how golf courses work. I only play minigolf

If you wish to join the varsity team you can contact that coaching staff to find out where they practice and whether or not the team provides equipment (which is likely doesn’t). If you’re interested in the club team you can contact them at golfclub@wm.edu and ask about where they play and what kind of equipment is available.

Yes, there are tons of courses in and around Williamsburg, but many are quite expensive. There’s a muni in Newport News called Deer Run that’s pretty inexpensive but also a bit of a dog track. For regular and cheap tee times, I’d suggest taking the golf class through the kinesiology department. When I took the class about 10 years ago, we played every week at the newly opened Kiskiak course, a beautiful course that cost the public around $50 per nine but only $12 per nine (walking) for students, along with a small bucket of range balls. There should still be courses with special rates for students, and the kinesiology department (look up the golf instructor) is one place to start.
