I'd like to take AP Stats, but my school doesn't offer it. Are there any good (cheapish) books that are thorough and will give me a good chance?
Thanks!

The textbook I used for AP stats was pretty good. However the problems were arranged in a really weird fashion. Unfortunately I don’t even remember the name of the book…

Pretty much any AP Stats book will do. AP Stats is a really easy course to self-study; most of it is just knowing which test to apply at the right time (e.g. z-test, t-test, χ^2 test). Also, some basic probability problems.

I’ve heard it’s the easiest AP test…you should be fine. I’m taking it this year, and I haven’t heard of any really good books for it. I’ll let you know if I find any though!

Barrons AP Stats!

Barrons AP Stats is a very comprehensive book that not only covers the statistics in detail, but also has many challenging questions that really helps students to prepare for the AP Stats exam. Since you are planning to self-study AP Stats, get this book!

Warning:
Because AP Statistics Exam is depends heavily on graphing calculator, AT Stats prep books are also based those calculators. Older versions of prep books (especially Barrons) uses TI-83 and Ti-84. Current version of Barrons uses TI-Nspire. Before purchasing the prep book, make sure you look at what type of calculator does the prep book is based on.

Which Calculator should I get for Stats? Is the TI Nspire allowed in other standardized tests bc it has a qwerty keyboard.

the ti-nspire does not have a qwerty keypad

Was this the book you used?

I’m taking AP Stats this year, and we’re supplementing our text with AP Stats Guy Video series: [- Home](http://www.apstatsguy.com/) It’s not a textbook (I’d use Barron’s there), but it’s good for concepts you don’t understand.

I haven’t heard many things about textbooks, but as for review books, I’ve heard many positive reviews about Barron’s, 5 steps to a 5, and APSCO.
