Good books

I am a big fan of Agatha Christie's detective Hercule Poirot as well. Murder on the Orient Express is GREAT! When I was 16, I spent the summer with my grandparents, and I read all of my grandfather's Agatha Christie's which featured Miss Marple as well. I loved them (but I am a girl). I believe Hercule Poirot would be more appealing for guys. For Agatha Christie fans, ages ago I read a book about her life. I cannot remeber who wrote it, but it was a great mystery itself!
Happy reading!

Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides - really different and totally engrossing
The Night Listener by Armisted Maupin - psychol. thriller
Dogs of Babel
Kissing in Manhattan
A Map of the World
The Book of Ruth by Jane Hamilton
Crow Lake

That should get you started...

hahaha to be honest, Hercule Poirot is not much of a "guy's" detective hero, that's more like Holmes. Poirot is ....really quite feminine in lots of ways. like his overdressing at every occasion, etc. have any of you guys seen the BBC shows adapted from the novels? They're pretty good, tho sometimes they twisted the stories around, but i still thought they were pretty good.

Catch-22

10 chars

James Patterson (the Alex Cross series)
