New York ( pref NYC area )
California ( pref SoCal )

I need some good community colleges in those areas.\
I'm looking to transfer to a 4-year University probably in California...
So some colleges that "guarantee" transfers.
And some that offer good to great honor programs!
Thanksss.

California:
Santa Monica College - pretty much the best one in the state

If you want to go to a university in California, then go to a Californian community college. UCs have a huge preference for Californian residents so applying from elsewhere will severely hinder your chances of transferring into the system. (However, that is not the case for private universities in California like USC.)

Okay, so I’m not a California resident. I’m just planning to move to California after HSgraduation. ;-0
I mean, after 2 years @ a California CC, living on my own, ect. I’ll probably be considered a California Resident.
Maybe I won’t. Don’t know.

I just know where I want to be, it would be a lot cheaper for me to attend CC for the first 2 years, seeing that i’m not a CA resident… I’m really interested in applying to USC, or UC_Berk.

if you decide mtsac, and have questions i have a thread u can ask them at.

aside from that, if you wanna go to CAL or USC, most CC’s in socal do have agreements with CAL but not with USC. USC is private so they look at everyone equally i guess. From what i know, no CC has any sort of “priority” over another.

But some CC’s do have priority admission agreemnts with UC’s, while some dont. so be sure the oen you go to does.

id recommend PCC, SMC, OCC, and MTSAC,

Maybe you need to find this out before you move.

Yeah. If you live in California for a year, get your ID/DrivL changed, live on your own ( in an aprtment, or wherever ) you can change your residency by state after a year of living there…I just don’t know whether I should transfer my residency OR not…
