I plan on writing about my two passions-writing and the medical field. The thing is, the only thing I have to show for writing is my self-published novel that's like 300 pages that I chose to do for my gifted project. Is that enough/impressive? Right now I just had an interview with Northwestern about their cancer research program during the summer for juniors, do you think getting the interview means I got it? and if so that would be the only thing I'd have for the medical field, well that and volunteering at a hospital.

I don't know, do you think this would be a strong essay topic based on what I have? I want to get into the ivies as well as nu.

if your a good enough writer you can right about what you ate for breakfast and make it sound impressive...

self publishing your own novel is a lot more than most kids have, don't worry

idk...i've heard alot about how most colleges, ivies etc... would like to see more of an interesting essay topic or an interesting stance-- not simply a repeating of your credentials (which should be in your application anyways) or the typical "i would be great for your college because i love to learn and play tennis and the piano, the end"

if those things are really your passion, go with it--just make sure it doesnt sound too cliche and DONt try to write what you think they want to hear

something personal or special to you. better to be an experience rather than a show of merits.
