I really want to try and rush a frat my spring semester to meet more people but the are a few issues. One I have epilepsy so I cant drink more than a couple beers and I feel like that would be awkward during rush... The second thing is I'm gay so I feel I wouldn't really fit into the "frat bro" stereotype even though I still have a lot of guy friends. Any advice on what frats to rush would be appreciated

Hi Namess,
I would suggest that you go to all the open houses that the fraternities hold after winter break. Meet the brothers and see where you feel the most comfortable. Fraternity rush is way more laid back and casual than the sororities so I think you will be more able to choose the house you would like to affiliate with than you would at a school that has a more formal fraternity rush. Also, you might want to ask any questions you have about the fraternities to the guys you see wearing their letters around campus.

Hey namesss. My son (class of 2017) also has epilepsy and can’t drink. He’s not the frat type, but I just wanted you to know you’re not alone out there. Congratulations on your sucesses!
