Good GPA in HS, bad community college grades

So, I have a 4.3-4.4 weighted GPA in high school. I took a foreign language class at a communtiy college.

I got an A for Chinese 3, but then I got a C for Chinese 4 because of attendance. My schedule conflicted with this course which was on the weekend. They wouldn't let me drop the class and I had to persuade my teacher to pass me. I did generally well on all the tests and completed all my assignments. I took Chinese classes since kindergarten and I have never gotten lower than an A.

Will this really hurt my chances at Berkley?

i was in a simialr situation, and with chinese school as well
long story short, it didnt hurt
edit: and if it did hurt, apparently not enough

one C can’t do that much damage.

One C is alright but i think you must do better marks.

Naw, I got in bud. I had a 4.1 gpa in high school but actually they don’t even see that. My UC gpa was much much much higher though, I’m sure. Regardless, I got a C in one of my classes and I got in. Don’t worry about it. As long as it’s not a D or an F and if you have tons of GREAT extracurricular activities, you have a shot.

Unfortunately, it will wreck your GPA come graduate school apps. One B took my GPA down .03 points. One 4 unit course in a sea of 125~ A units. So shameful.

It’s the person’s community college grade. That doesn’t go on Berkeley’s gpa but I guess it could hurt a little bit since people still look at it but I doubt that would be highly regarded as a view of the student’s performance since it was only community college. I could be wrong, but oh well…?
