hi. I am applying for engineering major.
I have been taking challenging mathematics courses and I showed great results from all of them. Currently I am in AP calculus.
This December, I hurriedly took math 2 for my sat 2, and i ended up with 610.
I utterly failed in time management and ended up skipping half the test.
Obviously this is a really bad score considering that I am an AP cal student and I am applying to top engineering schools like berk, northwestern, vanderbilt, and etc.
Will this significantly affect my application as a whole? I mean, sat 2's are not required anymore and I heard that they are just plus's.
I have about 4.2 GPA, currently taking 5 ap classes, and have been participating in 2 varsity sports. I just feel like this one small mistake in testing can demolish all the things that I have worked on throughout my high school career. I need a suggestion!

If the SAT II math score isn’t required then I wouldn’t submit it.

Have you taken SAT Reasoning and/or ACTs, and done very well in Math? What about AP tests in Math & Science? If you have plenty of other high scores, it shouldn’t be fatal, but I think that sub-optimal math scores could affect your prospects for engineering programs where plenty of applicants scored at or near 800. If you don’t have spectacular scores on other tests, you might consider prepping and re-taking. That would, at least, help your prospects should you end up on some waiting lists. Are you applying to any other, less-selective, engineering programs. You might want to add some, despite your great record.
