Good Schools for Foreign Language Studies with My Stats...Help!

Hey everyone, I know these threads are annoying but any help would be appreciated! My ideal school would offer lots of study abroad programs, and be in a more urban area. I'm looking at Lewis and Clark, and American. I've already applied to GWU for ED but I'm worried I haven't looked hard enough or maybe I let a great school get past my radar.

Caucasian female from NC
3.63 W GPA (not too good, I know)
Somewhat rigorous high school transcript (3 years of Latin, 4 years of German, one AP class and the vast majority honors classes)
Won a CBYX scholarship to study abroad in Germany last year.
28 on the ACT, am taking it again and hope to get a 30
I have an excellent teacher reccomendation from my German teacher, scored a 5 on the AP German exam and am currently serving as her intern.

ECS:
2 years varsity lacrosse
German Club
FCCLA
2+ years volunteering at a thrift shop that benefits animals
YMCA Youth Counselor
Working as tutor, and TA at a local preschool
Study Abroad?

I was planning on taking more AP classes Junior year to boost my GPA, but I wasn't able to because I was studying abroad. Also, I had to take an Honors Algebra II class, although I'm horrible at math and got a "D" due to classes already being filled when I got back from Germany. I wrote this on my application though, and my teacher supported this on her reference. I want to study German and International Relations, but would like to have the chance to study other languages as well. Thanks everyone!

Wisconsin–great foreign languages (including a top German dept) and numerous study abroad programs. If your UW GPA is aound a 3.4 you are a low match with a 28. Madison is a nice city somewhat larger than Chapel Hill at 250,000 or so.

This helped me a LOT also do you think Wisconsin has good all around languages and i have a chance with a w 3.65 and unweighted 3.36, ACT or 28 and SAT i have no clue? If it helps im Hispanic, and have muchoooo EC’s

UW has pretty much great all around languages and teaches more of them than virtually any school in the US. Being Hispanic would be a plus and help make you more of a match than low match. UW is actively recruiting minority students.

I was at the thought that UW-Madison would be a massive reach for me? So its not? Also are they good with like getting into governmental work because madison is that state capital? haha sorry im asking so many questions

Grades are a little low and ACT is average but for legit minority applicants it would be competitive IMHO. Better grades this year would help a lot.

Well yeah haha i have all As my lack of GPA is because i too, lived in a foreign country last year. haha and were only allowed AP’s as Juniors & Seniors

Goucher; Clark; Drew; NYU; BU; Villanova; St Josephs
No need to be defensive about a 3.6

Haha Amanderin we have a lot in common (: Thanks for the suggestions yabeyabe and the reassurance of my GPA, it’s easy to lose perspective in this forum.

As to the government question, yes, they have lots of contacts in the Capitol and in DC too.
