Google Bold Internship

I got an offer for Marketing this summer - goodluck to everyone

i got an internship offer for global ad services… woot!

To the two above posters:

Why did you wait so long to join CC and to specifically post that?

idiots.

@woodendynomite

I wish there was a way to “like” your comment haha.

@woodendynomite - i think you verbalized the feelings of many people… :D

but in all seriousness you can’t blame 'em, they got an internship from Google - they deserve to brag.

ive posted on this thread before when i got to final rounds - stop being a hater and get on with your life

Did anyone from Canada get it???

also to akiowhatever, i thinks it’s funny your saying he expresses your views when you just sent me 4-5 back to back private messages asking me for HELP and to learn my stats, I should have told you nothing since your just a hater too… in the real world your going to meet a lot of people who have what you want and if your smart, you would try to befriend them, not speak negatively about them, and learn how you too, can get it

@ michelest12 - WOAH, calm down! Did you read my other statement?! That you deserve to brag?! :confused: last time I checked, that’s not being a hater…and I did say “in all seriousness”, FYI I WAS JOKING! I think you’re taking this way too seriously.

btw, my comment wasn’t meant for you anyway, it was meant for kooli123, who MADE A USERNAME to post that he/she got an internship! I think you’ll agree that that is kind of ridiculous.

It was very nice of you to help me and I definitely appreciate the help :slight_smile: however, don’t rush to conclusions and feel bad. ;)

The Real World: College Confidential

sounds like the title of a reality show…:p

Hey guys, been lurking a bit and just wanted to ask a few questions:

When someone posted earlier that all applicants would be notified of their status by mid-february, does that mean their status for first-round interviews or final status of whether they got the internship or not?

I was asked to do a first-round interview over the phone but have not heard back regarding whether or not I’ll be asked to go to Mountain View to interview. I figure since some people have already done interviews in-house, I probably wasn’t selected. However, I thought my interview went really well. Anyone know if I still have hope?

i did make a username just to tell you that i got a position cuz i JUST found this wall of people talkn about this internship as if it was impossible to get… and i have proven thats its possible…

so there’s hope for all of y’all…

plus im def not as smart as some of the ppl on here and i def dont go to the best skool in the country so its more about personality and your response to situations that cud come up during the internship… thats it… so relax

hopefully that helps those who are nervous abt interviews

@ kooli - well that’s cool :slight_smile: sorry for making fun of you then, just seemed a bit sketchy…but sorry anyway :slight_smile: Congrats! :D

@ryde - I obviously don’t know anything very concrete about the process since I haven’t been accepted or rejected yet for even a phone interview, but other people who have been getting in-person interviews have been saying that you hear back 7 - 10 days later if they’re interested. Why don’t you email them directly? It would probably end all your doubts. :D

Hey guys I am really interested in the BOLD program for next summer. I was going to apply this year, but couldn’t since I will be studying abroad in Japan (Hopefully that helps my resume), but I am just wandering how the application process was and what all was on it? Sorry just trying to prepare early. Also some of you have stated you were recommend by someone at Google. There are no Google offices in my state, and they aren’t scheduled to come to my school this year. I was wandering if you had any suggestions on how to meet someone from Google and possibly get a recommendation.

u shudnt go and seek out somebody to give you a recommendation… i dont kno anyone at google either and even during the interview i mentioned that i just stumbled upon the application.

experience and ambition in ur application and resume are what (i think) theyre goin for and going to japan would help that…

btw… i went to japan last summer myself… super tanoshi :slight_smile: have fun!

Thanks for the advice. Do you think going abroad gave you an edge over some applicants? Also where did you go in Japan? I’m going to Tokyo at Rikkyo University I am really excited.

Honestly, I didn’t put it on my resume because I didn’t think it wud make a difference so it didnt give me an edge.

I participate in a few orgs in leadership positions and I have a part-time job as a manager. leadership is important, so participate in activities that will allow you to use ur strengths and build leadership skills including communication and group work.

I went to Tokyo for an exchange program, I didnt take any classes except a short japanese course.

yes, ivey12 i am an ivey student too. have you or any of the other canadian applicants heard anything in the past week?

My apologies - I was too harsh and read too much into it. I hope everyone gets the internship of course and will help anyone anyway I can (via email haha) - all the best!!!
