made it to the in person interview! going on March 1 to NYC!

For all those who made it to the in-person interview, how long did it take to hear back after your phone interview?

Thebloomster Congrats!!! I just had my phone interviews on Tuesday and my recruiter said I should hear back within a week about the next step. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

:)

Thanks, and good luck to you! I hope you find out soon

Hey guys,

Sorry I didn’t see this thread before, I would saved a whole bunch of you a lot of heartache! The google BOLD program is primarily for under represented minorities.

I applied last year (I’m chinese btw, LOL not URM at all!) and I go to HYP, 4.0 in Econ/CS, leadership…and so did a few of my friends. All the asian and white ones were rejected at various times in the process, while my one URM friend got called and eventually got into the mtv site.

He said that the program (in the mtv site) is almost all URM - the few non-urm that were there could have gotten a job as the CEO of a company if they wanted to  (exaggerating here, but you get the point :p).

It’s a great program, but it’s really meant to attract URMs to the technology industry - which is exactly what their website says! And I still applied…

If anyone is reading this and is not a urm, I would encourage them to not apply to this program and just look for full-time opportunities at Google when the time comes; I found out that I got rejected at the end of the process and that was a lot of waiting, watching, wondering - but that’s okay, I ended up getting a full time job at a Fortune 50 company anyway, so you will be fine if you don’t get this internship. :p

Sorry for the rant, just thought I’d let future readers know this (since I’m too late for this year’s kids >_<)

thyre3

I heard back from my recruiter within one week. I spoke with one of the Coordinators and Google typically tries to notify everyone with their results within a week but some departments/recruiters are slower than others.

Hope this helps,

If you look at the Google BOLD pictures, it seems to be very very diverse.

Same boat, Miami. Have not gotten a rejection or invitation.

Yea, I haven’t gotten any notification either. I was aiming for their finance department. I have a 3.4, go to NYU Stern, lots of EC’s and pretty good essays, and am mexican. I don’t know what else they could have been looking for.

thyre3 – are girls considered URM’s in technology?

I thought they would be, but I think google is looking for URM women, i.e. mexican girls, african american girls, native american girls…

How’s everyone doing so far? I had my phone interviews Tuesday of last week and I’m waiting to hear back about the next step. How are the people that got in-person interviews doing? Any advice?

Hoping I hear back soon with good news! Keeping my fingers crossed :)

How long does it take to hear back after the final interview?

My son interviewed in NYC on a Tuesday and got a phone call Friday afternoon. Good luck to all.

Just got the email! I’m going to NYC for an in person interview!!!

AHHH one more step!

:)

Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hey everyone!

I had my last interview on Friday. After the last interview, how long does it take for them to give you an answer?!

The wait is so stressful!!!

Good luck everyone :)

Greens89, did you have an in person interview? Which department?

d_rolla08, nope, it was over the phone. I don’t know why - maybe because I’m in NY and it would be too much of a hassle for me to fly all the way to Mountainview? Either way, they told me it was my final interview - Marketing. Did you have an interview yet?

Good Luck!

Has anyone had their phone interviews for Public Policy yet? I have my two interviews in a couple of days?
Also, it would be really helpful if someone could let me know examples of some of the questions that they asked. I have a pretty good idea of general areas, but more help of what to expect would be much appreciated!

Hi all, I just made an account on here. I was wondering if anyone interviewing for People Operations had heard a final decision from Google yet. I had my final interview two weeks ago and haven’t heard back…
