Got a D+ in a class.

Basically, I didn't pass Child Psychology this past semester. What I was wondering- was if I have to go to an advisor just to re-take a course? I just registered for Child Psychology with another professor (I want to get rid of that D+ asap) and it let me. Does this mean I'm set and when I pass this semester, my D+ will change to whichever grade I get my 2nd time? Or do I need permission to re-take a course? O_o I'm assuming I'm set but I need to make sure.

I’m fairly sure that both the D+ and your new grade will show on your transcript. I don’t know for fact, but this is what I’ve heard.

I’m not sure, but if you call the advising office, whoever answers the phone should be able to easily answer your question for you.

Grades are always on your transcript. Both grades will show. There are no do-overs in college. If you know you are not going to do well in a class, you can withdraw by a certain date and then your grade won’t count. Once there is a grade, its going to always be on the transcript.

I am taking that class this semester  was it hard? which professor did you take?

Okay, it’s not a big deal. I ****ed up in the class for not withdrawing in time (because I thought I could bring my grade up). I know I have re-take the course again if I want to major in Psychology though, yeah? Because a D+ isn’t good enough if you want to major in the subject?

I guess my question is if it’s okay if I’m signed up right now? I wanted to call the advising office but didn’t know if I had to schedule a whole appointment for an advisor to answer one question, but thanks, frever. :D

utexasnur- I took it with Reeves and I’ve heard she was actually fun/easy. But a lot of people thought what I thought (We have a FB group for the whole class, about 200+ students, and we would talk about the class in there) and we were so wrong. The material is easy so you think you know the concept but there’s different/specialized names attached to common sense concepts so I don’t know…

I’m taking it with another prof this semester who supposedly is good too. :l
