hi guys,
I just checked up the school website.
I got accepted in SOM.

By the way, is the SOM accounting really prestigious?
Do students get hired into major firms?
How classes are hard in SOM?
Are People there friendly?

I'm excited but worried.

Please somebody gives me about the school and job offers.

hey raja... I'm applying to SOM too, but I haven't heard from them yet...

Just curious... What were your SATs and GPA? If you don't mind me asking...

Literally, I'm transferring from CC.
My GPA was 3.8 / 4.0, and various activities.

I'm sorry this is not helpful for your question. : (

Raja, I also am a transfer and in SOM and have enjoyed Binghamton a lot. There are definitely a lot of opportunities and a lot to learn.

One thing you should watch out for is the tests. Be prepared to basically have multiple test weeks. SOM classes often put their tests (2 semester and final) all on the same week or so time frame, and it can be hectic.

The accounting program is well known and I think the most important thing is that a lot of accounting firms come to Binghamton to recruit. So, you definitely have opportunity being in Binghamton and if you make the best of it, you will be able to succeed.

And, I think the people are friendly. I'd say just as much as any college is going to be. I've yet to meet anyone that was really disrespectful and mean, but I am sure those people are at Binghamton. However, if you put yourself out there, make friends with roomates and other people in your hall, join some clubs or a sport or something, you'll make friends and what not.

I enjoy Binghamton and really don't get where everyone is coming from when they complain about it being boring or depressing. I've visited a bunch of colleges to see my friends and you can do the same stuff at Binghamton that you can do anywhere else.

If you truly hate rain/snow, you might dislike Binghamton from time to time, but it precipitates far less than people say. Not that the weather is particularly great either, but it's not raining and dreary every day or anything.

"CollegeKid"
Thank you so much for the reply.

I've heard that professors make tests harder every year.
Is this true? and how students usually spend their time
to study? are they just living in the library to catch up all
the tests materials during semester?

thank you

have any other transfer students recently been accepeted to the SOM?
