got accepted, parties?

I got accepted into Drexel on instant decision day for transfers last friday, the 29th of january. I'm currently attending CUNY Baruch College in NYC and the atmosphere here isn't that great mainly since it's a commuter college, most likely the best business school amongst all commuter colleges. I was just curious since I haven't heard much about the parties at Drexel since most people talk about the bars and clubs which i dont really care much about yet since im not 21 and even if i was I want to experience the true college parties are like so Zachhdude and other frequent visitors to this forum, what is the party scene like at Drexel?

i covered the party scene in other posts. there is a party scene, just not as big as state schools like rutgers or penn state. if you’re looking for a party though, between drexel and penn, you’ll find one. penn parties are a little bit classier than drexel parties. drexel parties usually consist of a muddy basement and a watery keg.

yoo zach thanks alot for that. I’m actually going to stay on campus as a jr. next year. do the dorms come with a microwave, fridge, and TV?

that’s a mistake. don’t get drexel housing as an upperclass student, i can’t stress this enough. it’s expensive and you can get a place half the price in off campus housing (which is actually on campus). i lived with a transfer student once in on campus housing and he said it was one of the biggest mistakes he’s ever made. there is no tv. no microwave. unless you are in on campus housing in university crossings, but you’d still need a tv and need to pay for internet and cable there. also, you wouldn’t want to end up with a dick RA. most are cool, but every now and then you’ll get a dick RA that may even be younger than you and on a power trip that’ll write you up for noise violations, alcohol, everything. i live in on campus housing just because i get a scholarship from rotc. off campus you’ll get a bigger place, with a lot more freedom for half the price and possibly even closer to campus than drexel’s housing.

I’m guessing the reason you want to live on campus is to make some friends at Drexel? If that’s the case the upperclass residence halls won’t typically be as social as the underclassmen ones. However, I would recommend looking into University Crossings (but you have to hurry lol…there are only 8 spots left as posted). It’s certainly not the best housing and it’s an old building, but it’s still relatively social and there are always parties going on somewhere in the building on the weekends. It’s cheaper than university housing if you share a bedroom and you’d be closer to campus than many of the dorms. As Zack said you do have to pay for utilities, but it does come with a fridge and a microwave (TV not included!). Otherwise, if you live further off campus, you run the risk of not meeting that many people unless you’re awesome at making friends in classes and your roommates are very social.
