I am a philosophy major that recently got accepted to UCSD through tag. However, one of my friends was looking over my application and saw that I still haven't taken a UC Transferable math class and was shocked that I was even admitted. I took and could not pass college algebra. Now I think that UCSD will see that for spring 2013 I still haven't taken a transferable math course and will rescind my application. Or is it possible that they accepted me without TAG?

Check your terms of admission and call your admission officer. They may require you to take it over summer or something. (They’re making me take an English course before enrollment). Hopefully it won’t be an issue!

English and Math are generally required , if I had to guess this looks like a major oversight on their part . You need to ( even if you somehow get an exception ,it’s far easier to get your math done at a CC ) pass a UC transferable math class before transferring

if you are to take a course before enrollment, you are going to take it in summer, so do you have to pay the summer school fee or it’s covered in your next year’s tuition fee?

I was accepted for spring so I will be taking it over the fall at UC Davis (well, once I get permission, which seems to be likely judging from the last email). They said that they preferred me to take it at CC, though. So you don’t have to take it at UC and pay summer school fees.

definitely call the admission office to get a reliable answer!
