Hi so I got denied from Syracuse ED two days ago and that school was my dream. I can't express how this rejection has truly gotten the best of me and I am devastated. I dreamt about attending the school and the fact that I will not be apart of the class of 2017 Syracuse freshman year is killing me. I have decided that I want to transfer into Syracuse ASAP no matter where I go which probably won't be too great considering my stats.

I fear transferring in sophmore year is going to leave me as an outcast and never have a "group" of friends because everyone else has already adjusted. Do you think transferring to cuse is a good idea? how hard do you think it will be ? I would love to hear some stories and advice because this whole transfer idea is so fresh to me. thanks for reading !

First off, I am sorry to hear about your rejection from Syracuse but you will certainty find a school for you by the end of the admissions cycle. I also admire your persistence in attending your dream school. I guess it is fair to assume that finances are not an issue since you applied ED to Cuse? I would also definitely recommend giving whatever school you plan on attending in the fall a good full year of effort because it might actually turn into a school you Love but you must not go into the experience constantly telling yourself I want to transfer before you give it a fair shot. What schools are you applying/have applied to as of now? After doing a bit of research on Syracuse requirements for transfers, they do not seem to have a recommended or required college GPA but I would advise you to strive for as close to a 4.0 as possible. Obviously the higher the better but realistically I would imagine around a 3.5 would be competitive for Cuse. Also they claim to focus mainly on your college transcript and make sure you complete at least 30 credits because then you will not be required to submit your high school transcript or SAT scores. Keep in mind on the website they said on campus housing is available for transfers but not guaranteed. If you have any more questions feel free to pm me, I was admitted to Syracuse two years ago but do not currently attend. I am also going through the transfer process currently and would be able to provide my experience thus far.

thanks for your reply invader! I didn’t know that about the 30 credit thing , I’m trying to get out of the school I will go to asap and trying to avoid showing admissions my SAT or high school gpa. It just sucks that I will be a transfer when everyone already has friends and knows there way. Why are you leaving cuse?

the other cool thing about the 30 credits is that you don’t need to submit your SAT’s either. They’ll go solely on your college transcript. They also like community service stuff too, so wherever you go to college get involved with the community, or at least some good clubs.
