Got in Penn ED as Non-FA, but Can I apply now?

I finally realized that I might have gotten a good amount of aid had I applied for need-based Financial Aid. My parents initially told me that we have way too much in assets but they did not know that assets are not taken into account nearly as much as income.

I'm not an international, so the policy is still need-blind. Meaning applying for FA does not affect my admission decision.

So would it be worth calling the FA office at Penn to convince them to allow me to apply for FA now(All the RD applicants have not applied yet anyway)? Or should I just wait till sophomore year and then apply?

Why on earth would you NOT see if you can apply for FA? Easy to spend your parents’ money, eh?

C’mon. The worse they can do is say no.

But honestly, you’ve really put your family in a bad situation. I’d be ticked off if I were your dad…

good luck however. I hope UPenn is generous.

Why are you asking us? Whatever we say won’t change what the FA office is going to do. Call them.

Like stated previously, just call. The worst they can say is no. Then you’re back where you started: accepted to Penn with a whole life ahead of you.

You could always apply for FA the year after if they say no for this year. So worst case, you pay full money for freshmen year.
