Hi all, I applied to St. George, Trinity College as a Social Sciences major; I applied very, very late (I believe it was an hour or two before the deadline officially closed). I am from the United States with extremely high stats, and my Trinity College profile was quite strong. However, I got into the Mississauga campus with a very, very large scholarship. Does this mean that I didn’t get into Trinity? Are they still reviewing my application for that college? Or did St. George fill up and this is why they offered me so much money to go to a different campus? Generally confused.
Some more info: “Congratulations! Your record of achievement has distinguished you in a pool of highly accomplished
applicants and we are extremely pleased to make you an alternate offer of admission to Studies in
Social Sciences at the University of Toronto Mississauga for 2018. We are excited to be able to offer
you an opportunity to join the University of Toronto community at our Mississauga campus.”
@lesjubilants Yes, it means you didn’t get into Trinity or the St. George campus. Mississauga students can take classes at the St. George campus, but St. George students get priority which means that there often aren’t any seats left by the time Mississauga students get to pick. There is a free shuttle between the 2 campuses. The ride takes 45-60 minutes.
It’s possible that admissions’ priority was to offer you the large scholarship and there weren’t any left for St. George.
Since you have high stats, you’ll get into a great college in Canada or the us. I wouldn’t attend Mississauga as an international student.
