Got My Letter.....

I don't think they care about how late the supplement is. After all, if you're missing information, they'll give you until almost the end of February to send it. I think they just want the students to get everything in early so that they can start to go through it on deadline night, just so decisions can go out a little faster.

WAITLISTED.

I really loved Haverford. Now, not only will I likely not get in off the waitlist, if by some complete miracle I do I will know that I am not as good as the other students there. Plus, this bodes horribly for my other LAC letters to come. I had no idea this was going to be so horrible.

Congratulations to everyone else though

day started off… miserably… rainy and cold in l.a.. found a bug in my fruit cup at lunch :(. mom let me know i was waitlisted at vassar in the afternoon and told me nothing from haverford. sigh. went to practice. went to another practice. afterwards, my family took me to my favorite ihop to eat away my sadness, gain 10 pounds and lose my girlish figure. at the end of the meal, the waitress brought out the bill… and my HAVERFORD (f-ing) ACCEPTANCE!!!!!!!!! families can be so mean it’s insane. my beautiful letter is sticky with syrup and greasy fingerprints, but i love it.

PS: my waitlist at vassar just shows you how capricious colleges can be…

that's awesome wok... your family must really love you :)

ohhh..hmmm...well i still haven't received a decision from haverford in the mail....

but uhhh...i guess it's safe to say i'm in...

the cross-country/track coach sent me an email of congratulations.

hooray!

Haverford = my first rejection

Although I really like the school, I'm not too disappointed......I know that I still have some other great options :)

Congratulations everyone!

Haha congrats wok! That's awesome!

thanks!
i hope and i know we will all find "our" place. the more important wait now is the financial aid packet... eeek!

Waitlisted.

I hear haverford is great with financial aid....is that right?

i think in general they are... but you always hear horror stories from people about getting into dream schools and then having the rug pulled from underneath.

Just wanted to let you know- admissions rate for this class was a little under 24% for Regular Decision. About 30% of RD/deferred applicants were waitlisted, and the remaining were rejected.

Anybody apply to Wesleyan?

i applied to wes. i got accepted there and waitlisted at haverford.

jaimie17, do NOT think that you are not as good as kids who got in. If you got waitlisted, it means that you are just one of many, many kids (some who got rejected, even) who they didn't have room for. They're trying to put together a complete class, and they can't accept everyone who is qualified. They don't have room. So you're on the waitlist? You're obviously one of the qualified kids they didn't accept. So whether you get in or not, don't feel inferior. It's wrong, and it's only going to hurt you.

I got accepted to Haverford, and got waitlisted at Amherst and Williams. Flat-out rejected at Swarthmore.

got into haverford and wes. i prefer the proximity to a big city so haverford>>wes... have any RDs gotten their financial aid yet?

Apparently they mail financial aid this weekend. Good luck with that ... my dad's going crazy.

Thanks, pastariffic. I do realize now that I will be able to do great at Haverford so I am going to do my best to sell myself on the waitlist. I'm also waitlisted at Williams and Amherst (per weird international e-mail?) so I don't know if I can accept all of them or what. Plus, I'll need to figure out how exactly I should go about campaigning. But thank you for your encouragement!

Any time, jaimie17. I know it stings to get waitlisted ... I got waitlisted at Williams and Amherst (per weird international e-mail!) myself, and I'm trying to decide whether to stay in the running. Make sure to remind them how interested you are and update them on any accomplishments. I know things will work out for you. Good luck!

lol, wow what a big thread
