Got rejected last year, do I have a prayer?

I applied to Brown last year and was rejected after being wait listed for a long time.

Are my chances basically zero this year?

what did you do in the subsequent 8 months? Are you re-applying as a FR or as a trnsfr? With the vast vast majority, the application process results in a denial. No one can say anything that can alleviate your concerns. It’s a tough road for everyone

I joined a sports club, volunteered with a charity and enrolled in a software engineering course at a company that teaches these courses. I want to study CS or CE.

I also raised my test scores

No one knows. Good luck and this year have some other choices and get on with it.

^agree, as much as I love Brown, if you don’t get in this year just go somewhere else; it’s not worth putting your life on hold to keep trying.

I know I am definitely applying to safeties this year.

I was just wondering if applying again under the circumstances in the op will affect my chances in any way.
I have been doing productive things during my gap year and increased my test scores.

I won’t encourage you from not trying this year. But if you don’t get in this year, I’m sure you’ll be happy somewhere else.
:)

Thanks.
I hope my waitlist decision doesn’t work against me
