got wheels???

Hey i was wonderin how many of the ucsd students have or bring cars to the school.

If you're in Warren, don't. Our parking is like a mile away from our dorms. We have to use a shuttle to get to even the parking lot.

Parking supposedly is a mess at UCSD. They recommend Freshmen just not bring their cars. Not worth the hassle that first year. Plus, just make friends with some upperclassmen.

I'm going without my car at the start of the year. If it proves impossible for me to live without it by Thanksgiving, I'll probably take it down after that break.

I'm bringing my car during sophomore year. Are there any good tracks down in SD? There's always RaceLegal, but dragging is incredibly boring.

i will not be bringing my car. don't need it. my friend at sdsu is bringing hers so i'm cool.

if you're living on campus, i think anything aside from a bicylce is too troublesome

for serious, vi.

free bus. come on. have you seen gas prices? on top of college? pff.

i bet this is just johnhong32's way of figuring out who will give him rides home for breaks. =]

yeah agreed. i'm not taking mine.

if i had one.. i wouldnt take it.

I want to take mine, but my parents aren't letting me. So, I'll bring it down sophomore year, or if I can manage sooner. I don't want my sister to even touch my car.

lol sister touching ur car lol, what kind of car is it?

It's a Jeep Wrangler Sahara, and he's my baby. And my sister is going to be of permit age during the first year at school, and already has ideas of what she wants to do with my car. I'm not letting her near him.

I'm not bringing mine either. I can't imagine not driving every day, though. I have this secret fear that I'll forget how, which isn't that implausible considering that I pretty much suck at it now. :)

One of the drawbacks of UCSD is that the city is so big that not having a car would be a drawback. Lets face it, La Jolla isn't that great of a social atmosphere. The public transportation system bites too...

I'm bringing my car. There's too much around UCSD for me not to bring mine.

Well, not everyone is as fortunate in terms of $$$ so bringing a car will just add another financial burden.

haha. my sisters car was mine for a while there. lol. lucky for her im a good driver though. lol. if i were you, i would rather pay the money to keep it parked on campus than let your sibling use it. lol. kuz my sister left her car home for the first 2 years of college and the second year was my permit/license time. i learned how to drive in her car. i took my driving test in her car. i drove her car as if it were mine for about 6 months after i got my license too. i dont know how she was able to let me do that. haha. i let her drive my car a few times. she got in an accident one time though (not her fault). she was driving and i was passenger.

and im not sure if i already said this, but, im not bringing my car. there is a ton of stuff to do, but a free bus sounds a little better than super expensive parking/gas when its free to take the bus and park my car in front of my house...

Haha, Oyama gonna have to be my new best buddy on campus! ;)

Anyways, figuring the high parking cost, high gas prices, and the assumption that someone on campus will give me rides, I decided I won't bring a car. Not that I want to bring my crap hand-me-down car anyways.

I'm bringing one down my junior year though; I get a nice new car of my choice then and I figured I'll be renting an apartment off campus anyways so that'll be the perfect time.

good idea syneria. new cars of personal choice are the best kinds to get. especially when they are free =]

i got a used car of my choice under a certain amount and i payed a certain percentage for it. not QUITE as fun as your situation, but mine starts 4 years before yours. ha.

and i am definately not bragging.

I am going to bing mine because I plan to drive home once a month at the least.
my cars name is oscar, everyone will love him
