Are you a freshman or transfer student? If you are a transfer student and have completed 60 units, you would be considered a senior-level transfer if you did two quarters at UCI and, yes, they would probably look down on that. Also, if you did two quarters at UCI you might no longer enjoy the priority consideration as a CCC transfer. In addition, I would imagine that any UC that sees that you submitted your application for them and simultaneously submitted your intent to register at another UC might not think you are taking ANY application that seriously. Unless you have a darn good reason (and can explain it in your personal statement) for registering for one university while applying for another (at the same time!), I would certainly imagine any UC would be reluctant to give you admission.

i c...so, will i be considered as a uc to uc transfer even if i apply from a ccc in november

also, what if i submit my intent to register at uci, but don't take any classes winter and spring at uci...meaning i would take courses at a jc or cross enroll...how would the other uc's feel, because i haven't really taken any courses at uci???

Why complicate things and dual enroll with UCI in the spring? Just turn down the winter acceptance and reapply for Fall admission. Not that difficult.

yeah these guys are right... why make things complicated. If you feel that you want to apply for a different school for fall '09 just don't enroll for the winter session.

I'm pondering on the exact same thing.. i got accepted to UCI for winter (engineering).
I think i'll go to UCI for winter and spring, but also apply this november to UCB/UCLA and if i get into berkeley, i'll go next fall. I'm still not sure what my applicant status would be though.
The 2 quarters wait is bad in two ways, u'll loose touch of the subjects if u r not doing anything and obviously there is the risk of not getting accepted.

By the way.. did u apply to UCLA for winter??
