gotta love gym finals

Last year my gym final was impossible......we needed to know sizes of the goals for all sports, weight of balls, length lines on fields, all penalties and other issues like that, scoring, rules, HISTORY, popularity, origins, and much more.....the teacher made us go on the computer during our free time and print from his file....the study guide was over 80 pages of packets for handball, lacrosse, football, soccer, softball, and pickleball....it was ridiculous...size 10 font....

and guess what the other (same grade, same level, just different teacher) class had? a one page study guide on basic softball rules.......their final took 5 minutes of T/F and multiple choice and then they just played...ours took the whole 2 hours

can hardly wait for the next gym final...it'll be great!!!!!

do you guys have such tests for GYM!!????

wow!! I really feel bad for you.

we have tests like that for each individual sport but we don't have a gym final.

Wow. We don't even have a gym final. In fact, we barely even have gym. Basically, the teacher does attendance, then about half the class sneaks out, and the gym teacher doesn't care.

Also, we have "PE Rec Games" where you just play games in the cafeteria after school.

I prefer to use my academic waiver, co-op waiver, and a sports waiver so I don't have to take any gym.

When I was a freshman, we had a gym final. It wasn't as detailed, but we had to know the scoring, specific lines, and origins of each sport we played. They also added the score we got on the final with our physical final, where we had to run the mile within a certain time, do a certain amount of pushups etc. But it was somewhat easy to do. I got a B on the final, but an A in the class.

The valedictorian in our grade, one of my good friends, got a B in one class...PE. Don't you love it.

We have the same gym midterm and final every year...for 4 years..

Varsity Study Hall Waiver!!!

my school doesn't have gym
we're just all required to participate in a sport in or out of school.

Wow your school is tough.. We just had to be assessed on catching and throwing small balls, had to participate in 1 game during PE (soccer, basktball, baseball or lacrosse) and had to make up some random game with our little 5 people groups, and play that made-up game during 1 class in PE.

5 minutes ago i thought the OP was being satirical... my school doesn't have a gym final. the mere idea sounds absolutely ridiculous

our freshman gym is like wellness+gym, so we have to demonstrate that we know vairous weiht lifting exercises and then we have to tell how many cals/gram in protein, fat, carbs, different vitamins, amino acids, goal setting, etc

At our school, gym is not really a class. It's, well...gym.

we only have to write a phsyical reflection essay at the end of every year. We basically do nothing in gym, except play soccer and chill.
The icing on the cake is that we have a kid who is going to be in a wheelchair almost all his life, and he is a good DJ so for gym credit he acts as DJ while we ... gym.

btw *** is pickleball ?

We had a summer gym final. The questions were really stupid. Like, "Who were the names of your teachers?" And "Where did we meet at the beginning of each class?"

god, i so would have flunked that final

We have to take gym for one semester freshman year, and here are a few actual example questions from the final:

What color is a tennis ball?
What are our school colors?
What is our high school mascot?
What does a goalie do?

(multiple choice, of course)

Here, P.E. is probably the only course where "A for effort" is applied. How else would fat people get an A in that class?

We don't have gym finals, but we have gym midterms (only in junior and senior year). It is right after out dance unit and so...we dance for an hour and a half.

And pickleball is awesone! It's a mix between tennis and table tennis.

Pickleball is like tennis but with much smaller nets and you use paddles and a plastic ball.

Wow... The closest thing we had to a final was getting tested in CPR or Sex Ed. And it was impossible to fail.
Wehave weird requirments however, like having to have swimming every year, some sort of health course (CPR, Sex Ed, Drivers Ed, Nutrition), and square dancing once in HS
