GPA Confusion?

So I have a WEIGHTED GPA of a 3.68 while my unweighted is a 3.4

A solid SAT score, ECs, leadership positions (VP of the entire school), volunteer service, you name it..

However, when I'm going to apply to colleges they want a GPA on a 4.0 scale.. So would that be my unweighted GPA or my weighted? Technically speaking, they're both under a 4.0 ..

Freshman year
3.5

Sophomore
3.14

Junior
4.42

Thanks!

I believe they want the unweighted GPA, since it can’t go higher than 4.0 while weighted can.

It will be your unweighted GPA that they look at (uw is on a 4.0 scale, w is usually on a 5.0 scale)…

I’ve heard conflicting stories on this. Do colleges take both into account? Or do they look at UW only and devise suitable weights themselves?

I heard they look at UW
Then have their own scale for weighting
