GPA Question

Sorry for the long post but hear me out: So I’m 4 weeks into my sophomore year of high school and had a question about my GPA. In my freshmen year I don’t think i did so well. I was all over the place with my grades. Mid-C for Honors Biology, Low C for Survey English, High B/Low A for Honors Spanish, Mid B for Honors History, and low A’s for my two electives. I was probably around a 3.4 or 3.5 (I don’t really know) for my freshmen year. I have all A’s for my first month in Sophomore year and am hoping to keep it up. The only thing is that I am not in any Honors except for Spanish this year and am in CP English, which is the low level English. (All other classes are ACC which is like a little above average). I am taking Chemistry this year which is a step up above most students in my grade. I am going to try for all Honors/AP classes Junior and Senior year and want to know what it’llevas take to get me a 3.8 or so GPA. Thanks

  1. Do you want to raise your GPA to 3.8 unweighted? All HS's weight Honors/AP classes differently, so I would assume you want to raise your unweighted to a 3.8 by end of Junior year before college applications.
  2. There are some colleges that do not consider Freshman grades in their GPA, which would be to your advantage when you are ready to apply.
