GPA Question?

What is a pretty solid college GPA for a transfer student thinking about applying to Uofm for winter 09'? Or what range should my GPA be in for a considerable shot (along with alot of other factors) in getting accepted to the University of Michigan.

Current G.P.A 3.85

Also if anyone has any tips on applying as a transfer to Uofm would be most helpful !!

That's more than good enough. Transferring isn't that hard. 3.5+ should get you in, and you have a 3.85. Where are you transferring from?

I'm transfering from MSU. * Yes I know I'm going to a rival school . UofM was always my first choice , I first got defered than rejected. Considering I live about 10 mins from campus , I've kinda of grew up in Ann Arbor and been around the university . One of the Top schools in the nation to say the least. Were you a transfer also? I'll be sending in all my stuff in early Aug for Winter Term deadline.

Yeah, and since you're in-state, it makes even more sense to transfer. I was in the same situation as you - got deferred, wait-listed, and then rejected. 3.85 at MSU is pretty impressive and you should get in. Yes, I'm also a transfer student.

3.85 from MSU ought to do it.

Just make sure your credits transfer. My brother tried to transfer there from CMU after his first year, but so many of his credits didn't transfer that he would have ended up as a freshman again.
