Hey ..So I'll be applying too a couple of Cal states and UC's in November and I was wondering how the whole GPA verification works. Right now I have a 2.81 GPA ...at the end of the fall semester after getting straight A's will go up to a 3.0 and same thing for winter and spring it should be up too a 3.26 by the end of the spring semester. My question is what GPA do you put down in your application and if I have a 2.81 when applying to a UC will I even have a chance since that is the GPA that is listed ...not until the whole year is completed when I'd have a 3.26.

UC and CSU look at GPA calculated from 10th and 11th grade a-g requirement courses (and 12th grade courses for CSU applicants applying after the grades from such are available) with up to 8 semesters’ worth of +1 points for honors/AP courses as listed in http://doorways.ucop.edu .

3.0 minimum for uc, csu minimum is 2.0. For csu’s like sdsu and cal poly, you need higher than 3.0. Use the index calculator on csumentor.
