Hi, I may be in some deep water here and it is worrying me. I was accepted to Brown (for January) and I go to a top LAC. Brown only received my first semester grades which I earned a 3.6 GPA for; not that great, but it worked. I felt my other credentials were pretty decent, and they must have observed a hook somewhere. I found out that my grades for this semester are not so hot, due to one awful required class, and my GPA took a fatal plunge. In the most recent semester my GPA was a 3.06 (oh ****) with a C, everything else is B or above, pulling my final GPA for freshman year to a 3.3 I guess? Any advice or experience on the matter? Will the admissions office take some sort of negative action once they receive my final transcipt or will they inquire with me about it?

hey, may i ask how you get transfer application before january?

since its above a 3.0 I dont really think you have too much to worry about...especially since you're already in the spring semester boat anyway. You have another semester to pull it up again.

newby, the spring app is the same as the fall. They were both due back in march or so.

invisble hand, did you request to be reviewed for fall semester by any chance?

"especially since you're already in the spring semester boat anyway."

hey man, it's not exactly like they choose the spring semester kids from the other end of the applicant spectrum either. there are still several hundred more applicants with excellent credentials probably, maybe better.

no way not at all what I meant. I mean that you have another semester to pull up your grades., im in for the spring too so i totally did not mean it that way.

sorry, but have to ask cause the sn, do you happen to be an econ major?
