<p>most state schools look at only GPA and SAT scores, usually with equal weight (and class rank if you provide it)</p>
<p>smaller private schools and liberal arts colleges take a more “holistic” view and don’t value the GPA as much. Of course it’s important but they also look at essays, extracurriculars, recommendations etc…</p>
<p>the middle 50% of admitted students had and unweighted GPA of a 3.8</p>
<p>Honestly, I don’t really know of top colleges that don’t strongly consider an applicants GPA. Usually it’s the other way around, I mean there are plenty of top LACs that could care less about SATs</p>
<p>JNE23, do you have specific schools that you are looking at? I have a college book that tells you how much each school values GPA, SAT, extracurrculars etc…</p>

Important: Extracurriculars, Talent/Ability
Considered: class rank, alumni relation, character, first generation, interview, race, volunteer/work experience</p>
