If you a GPA of 96 out of 100 what is your GPA on a scale of 4.0?(96 is an A) does it mean you have perfect GPA on a scale of 4.0?

Approximately 3.84. Though in general, it is easier to get a 4.0 on the traditional scale than on the 100 point scale. (since it is easier to get an ‘A’ in a class compared to getting a 100%)

So, adjusting for that, I would say it is in the range of 3.90 and 3.95.

I was also thinking it harder to get a 100 than an A!thanks for the answer!

Well, the thing is, what I’ve seen in some schools is that a solid A is a 4.0, then an A+ is a 4.3. On this scale, you’d have about a 4.0, maybe a little higher.
In my school, we don’t have pluses or minuses, so you’d just have a 4.0.
Of course, this is just converting the average straight to another GPA scale; it’s possible to have a 96/100 and have gotten a B in another class, thus not having a 4.0.

^Exactly. A 96 could imply that you got a 96% in every subject (which would equal a 4.0); however, if you got a 100% in a class, you must have gotten a 92% (a ‘B’) in another class in order for it to average to a 96. For this reason, it is hard to determine what your actual GPA is on the 4.0 scale without seeing your actual transcripts. It’s safe to say though, that you have at least a 3.9.

Which is why I like /100.
