Gpa

UW vs W?
break it downnnn

This has been discussed many times.

Your GPA is the average of all your classes.
A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
F=0

GPA=(sum of grades)/(# of classes)

For example, you recieve 5 As, and 1 B in one semester. Your GPA would be 3.83.

Your cumulative grade is all of it together since freshman year/sophomore year.

UNWEIGHTED GPA is treating everything equal. AP classes, Honors, everything is weighted the same (A=4, B=3, etc.).

WEIGHTED GPA generally is adding one point to AP course. An A in an AP course would give you a 5 instead of 4.

Example: You take 5 AP courses and 1 regular class. You get straight As in all of them. Your weighted GPA would then be 4.8333, and your unweighted would be 4.0.

Schools/colleges have different systems on weighted GPAs. Check to see.
