Grad School and Summer Classes?

Hi,

I'm a freshmen bioengineering at UC Berkeley (with an emphasis on biomaterials or biomechanics) major atm and want to apply to a top engineering grad school down the road. I'm wanting to take chem 3a/l, chem 3b, and bio 1a/l (ochem and intro bio major requirements) over the summer at a local community college to allow me a more manageable course load during the school year. Will this look bad on my grad school apps, since community college courses are supposedly easier than regular berkeley courses/berkeley summer session courses?

Thanks !

Grades earned in community college courses will probably not be valued as highly as grades earned in Berkeley courses. That said, as long as you complete your advanced major courses at Berkeley, and get good grades in those, you should be fine. Grad schools care much more about your grades in your advanced major courses than your grades in intro (freshman/sophomore level) courses.
