Hey guys,

So I feel almost certain that I will get a D in my AP Economics course this semester and I'm freaking out that my application will be rescinded.

Has anyone else gone through a similar situation before or currently are? Will I still be eligible to attend UCSD in the fall?

If I were you, I would focus everything on getting your grade up. Also, try searching the archives for “rescind,” lots of people with similar stories have been on here in the last few years.

“Offers of admission are provisional until the campus receives your final official transcript and verifies successful completion of all coursework required for UC eligibility.”

You’d better take care of that grade right now. Talk to your teacher (don’t go the begging route, nobody likes that), let them know that you’re aware this is a serious situation and that you’re willing to do whatever it takes to demonstrate proper knowledge, etc. You might lose out on some end-of-HS fun, but having your acceptance withdrawn is going to be a lot more painful.

Have fun being a transfer student, upside is that JC is cheap.

I know of 2 people who got D’s in second semester of high school. One went to UCSB, the other to UCSD. Both appealed and still got to go. Don’t worry about it too much, but I’m not saying don’t worry. Get your grades up.
