Throughout freshman and sophomore year I have gotten straight A's except for one B+ in Pre-Calculus.

Junior year, first semester I got all straight A's

Junior year, second semester I got 2 C+'s, a B, a B+, and 5 A/A+'s.

Senior year I should be able to get straight A's (or 1 B+ at the most) like I have been getting throughout high school, except for my huge, depression fueled screw up.

Now, excuse my language, but...how much will this **** me in terms of college apps?

PSAT 215, SAT 2150, ACT 33, GPA 3.90 currently, will become 3.91 after first semester of senior year (if all A's that semester). Currently 22/471 (still top 5% of class).

You take 9 classes per semester? wow.
So, this is not the end of the world, especially since you got all As first quarter. Additionally, your GPA is still very high, and you are still in the top 5 percent of your class.
If you can actually have a really good first semester senior year, then this probably will probably only **** you a little bit.

the purpose of GPA is for two things. ONE is the ranking. if your rank is high enough, then a lower GPA shouldn’t be too big of a deal. Also your GPA is still voer 3.9, which is decent fro MOST colleges.

It depends if those C’s are in core classes, such as Math or English.

C’s never look good on a transcript.

Umm yea I wouldnt say thats too good…especially since they dropped significantly.

The C’s were in Literature and Psychology. I’m going to study Engineering. I know Literature is a core class so ■■■, but Psychology I took as an elective.

If this is the only semester this ever happens, I think I still have a chance, but I’ve probably lowered my likelihood of getting into good schools significantly, because of the time it happened.

Psychology is also a core class, most colleges count it as a social studies elective.

This will hurt if you have Ivy League ambitions.

okay…

I know you’re not trying to be a jerk and I respect you but wow…that…really made my day.

How do you think my chances will be at Northwestern, Washington, Duke or Carnegie Mellon then?
