Hi, could anyone review (and possibly grade) my essay? Thanks :)

Topic:
Do you think that ease does not challenge us and that we need adversity to help us discover who we are?

Many years ago, farmers from Southern China lived by corn planting. They spent the whole year growing and nurturing corns, selling them for money and preparing for the next year harvest. There were not rich, nevertheless they could earn enough for living.

In one year, however, a catastrophe occurred. A strange type of worms came and destroyed the crops. They were so voracious that they are every single plants, from the root to the whole tree. The farmers, despite their utmost efforts, couldnt stop that disaster from happening. Many of them fell to the edge of the cliff and faced the inevitable bankruptcy.

In that gloomy situation, some people decided to leave that place and went to the city for jobs. However, the majority didnt give up. They decided to plant another type of tree: grape. Putting all of the fortune at stake, they persuaded the bank for a big loan and started a whole new harvest without any prior experiment.

Their efforts finally bore fruit. The grape resisted the harsh weather condition and quickly dominated the field. At the same time, graph was scarce in supply, the farmers were quickly able to sell at great price. Within three years, they repaid the loan and in five ears later, most of them became wealthy.

But the story didnt end there. What they did after being well off was to build a memorial statue for the worms. Without such intruders, they might only live as low-class people and never have the chance to become rich. Without them, the farmers might never put themselves in dilemma and realize what they could become.

Adversity is never pleasant. It forces people to accept the harsh reality and live with it. However, adversity can provide a unique chance to make the life better. For those farmers, difficulty made them success. For us, it is the way to make ourselves better.
