Taking the SAT tomorrow so I write a practice essay, may anyone be so kind and give me comments and a score out of 12? Thank you :)

Think carefully about the issue presented in the following excerpt and the assignment below:

"There is, of course, no legitimate branch of science that enables us to predict the future accurately. Yet the degree of change in the world is so overwhelming and so promising that the future, I believe, is far brighter than anyone has contemplated since the end of the Second World War."

Is the world changing for the better? Plan and write an essay in which (etc.)

Essay:

Most things change for good; however, the world is not one of them. Since the Industrial Revolution of the 1800s, we have seen pollution become so widespread that it is even commonplace. Technology, rather than making our lives easier, has caused a new generation of people that are lazy. The Agricultural Revolution has caused overpopulation and 'baby-booms' so much that we cannot even feed our own population and rely on 'one-child-only' polices (such as China) in order to remain alive. Ghandi said "the only constant in life is change". Although true, the change this world has embarked on is sullying human nature and tranquility.

Johannes Kepler inventing the printing press, James Watt inventing the first mechanical engine, the Industrial Revolution was seen as an outstanding act that advanced human life. Little did they know, however, that it actually hampered it. Since the Industrial Revolution, we have doubled carbon dioxide output. This causes pollution which is extremely hazardous to human life.

The remote control, television, 'instant-cooked' food are all technological advances that have caused people to misuse them. A whole new breed of 'couch-potatoes' and '24/7 gamers' has emerged. These people often suffer fro obesity and lack any effort at all. I for one, am nostalgic on the old days where an average child would play sports outside on a sunny day - not video games in a blacked-out room. New technology of this 'new world' has been disastrous to the new generation.

The Agricultural Revolution, ironically called the "people's savior", brought new ideas such as domestication and crop planting. However, this "revolutionary change" caused a overpopulation and people to spread out the way diseases do. This has reached a point where laws regarding reproduction had to be established. This is undoubtedly a result of the unbridled Agricultural Revolution.

It is evident that the world is deteriorating. The effects of the "prominent change" the world has endured are destructive to humans, and it is imperative we recognize this.
Humans have become lazy, and their population titanic. Finally, the waste they are producing from their new technology is perilous to Earth. How could the world be changing for good?
