Prompt- Should people make more decisions on their own and rely less on the advice of experts?

Throughout the world, people are good to rely on experts and not to make decisions themselves. However, this teaching is flawed and may even be detrimental to society. Experts often do what is best for themselves, not for the person asking for help.

At one point in his life, Adolf Hitler was considered an expert. He convinced all of Germany he was going to solve their problems. Hitler, however, had a different plan. He wanted to rule the world, and was going to do everything in his power to do so. He was not looking out for the individual person and doing what was best for them. Hitler was doing what was best for himself. This ended up hurting many innocent people from all over the world. Eventually, Germany’s so called expert almost caused the fall of Germany.

Before Harry Potter, Voldemort was considered by many people to be an expert. They wanted him to make them all powerful. However, Voldemort just wanted to make himself powerful. He and his followers killed many innocent witches, wizards, and even muggles. Voldemort promised his followers that they would all be rewarded. When Harry almost killed him however, he completely abandoned them. Voldemort left them to be ridiculed by the public, some were even sent to prison. So, even though he said he would help them, he left them when they needed him most.

Society needs to have the ability to make their own decisions. Both in the world and in literature, relying on experts causes many problems. Experts like Adolf Hitler can start massive wars. Experts like Voldemort can use the person in need to make themselves stronger. If society can learn to make their own decisions, the world would be a better place.

What are Hitler and Voldemort experts IN?

And your opening sentence doesn’t make much sense. “People are good to”? What does that mean?
