How much importance should we place on the advice of other when making a decision?
I was trying a new guide to writing an SAT essay and I wanted to know how it turned out.
I guide said to use 17-18 minuted because in the actual test 25 feels shorter

The only way to make the best choice when making a decision is to rely on the help of other. Biases and other influences may sway your decisions and negatively affect your decision-making skills. The advice of other is crucial when making a decision.
As demonstrated by the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, the advice of old and more experienced people can be beneficial to a decision. When the animals were plotting to overthrow the farmer, only Benjamin the oldest sense that the pigs were secretively trying to take over the entire farm as well. However, none of the animals listened to Benjamin's opinions and the Pigs continued to terrorize the farm. The deception by the pigs is highlighted when the horse Boxer is sent to be killed. Benjamin, as the wisest and most experienced animal on the farm, has valuable input concerning the entire group of animals, but nobody listens. Therefore, the continued reign of terror could have been stopped if the animals had taken the advice of Benjamin. Hence, elders and experienced people have valuable knowledge that they can use to help in the decision of others.
As shown by Dr. Frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s novel, one should listen to the advice and concerns of other people. Dr. Frankenstein passion was to create a living creature out of corpses, however, his friends and family strongly discouraged. Neglecting their advice he chooses to create his creature, instantly regretting it. The creation also regretted existence becoming very lonely and killing Dr. Frankenstein’s brother and his wife. Dr. Frankenstein then looks to fix his problem but dies in the process. Hence, the advice of others should be heeded because one’s emotions may conflict with reason. Dr. Frankstein is clouded by his emotions but the advice of others was rational.
After a careful analysis of the works Frankenstein and Animal Farm, the advice of others is indeed crucial to the decisions of others. Neglecting the advice can lead to irrational and clouded judgement.
