do ucs look at semester grades or the final at the end of the year
UC’s will ask for you submit your final HS transcript after you enroll. Senior grades are not used in their application review but Senior grades will maintain your provisional admission so make keep them up. For the all UC’s except UCLA/UCB, you need to maintain a 3.0 weighted GPA with no D’s or F’s. For UCLA/UCB, you need to maintain a 3.0 unweighted with no more than 2 C’s and no D’s or F’s.
If you are talking about what grades the UC’s look at on your UC application, then 9-11th grades for the a-g courses.

Whatever grades show up on your HS transcript will be used by the UC’s and other colleges. My son’s HS send home quarter grades but only semester grades were listed on their HS transcript. Each HS will be different so I would ask for a copy of your HS transcript to see what is listed on it and talk with your Guidance counselor.
