I'm applying to a few ivies and ivy-type schools. I'm taking 5 AP courses senior year. The first marking period I got all A's, but for the second marking period 2 of those A's will probably be A-'s and 1 will be either a B or a B+ (AP Spanish). I'm also doing basketball for this marking period which takes up alot of time. Will the colleges I'm applying to count this slip against me?

hopefully not, because im in the same boat

bumppppppppppp

Please anyone else, I'm really stressed out about this. Thanks.

bumpppppppp

Well, they're not gonna count it for you...

no .

This depends upon many factors. Do I think that it will harm you? No. If they reject you based on your minor slip ups from A to A- or A to B+ etc., then they were not going to accept you from the start because anyway you look at it, you are still performing fantastically. That is not a true slip-up. A true slip-up is when all your grades fall a full point, go from an A to a C, etc. You should not worry about it.

Meh... I'm planning on my first C in school (in calculus) this term, and my grade all around falls to like a B... for an A- average from what was a low A...

So waht does that mean for you? nothing... just saying others are in the same boat... I think it happens to a lot of people and not to psych yourself up about it... I already got into some of the better schools in the nation (EA)... so don't worry about it...

Thanks for the responses everyone.

I don't think the colleges will count that against you. It would be one thing if your grades were dropping from A's to D's, but your grades haven't dropped THAT much. You are still doing very well.

And I know how you feel. I had straight A's the first marking period. I'm Student Council president, and that takes up all my time. In two of my classes (Calc and Lit) this quarter, I've been getting B+'s.
